Dr. Kristina Downs

Kristina Downs is the creator and head writer/researcher for Crimelore . She holds a PhD in Folklore from Indiana University, an MA in Folklore from George Mason University, and a BA in Latin American Studies from the College of William and Mary. Her dissertation examines representations of Indigenous heroines in the United States and Mexico. Her other research interests range from injury narratives to amateur crime-solving communities. She is a freelance editor and indexer.

Jesse A. Fivecoate

Jesse A. Fivecoate is a sociocultural anthropologist and folklorist and currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University, Bloomington. His research centers on the use of local supernatural legends as a way of remembering times of conflict and crisis. He is currently writing a dissertation that examines the ways in which ghost narratives are used to remember individuals and communities harmed by protracted conflict in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
